Sean Dyche stance clarified as West Brom look to replace Steve Bruce
Sean Dyche is reportedly holding out for a Premier League job as West Brom are looking to appoint a manager after sacking Steve Bruce.
According to James Nursery of the Mirror, Dyche is expecting opportunities to come up in the English top flight – making it hard for the Baggies to lure him to the Hawthorns.
Carlos Corberan, Gary Rowett and Chris Wilder are among the managers linked with the West Brom hot seat.
Via Twitter, Nursery wrote, “Understand Sean Dyche is holding out for a Premier League club as expects opportunities to come up (probably in Midlands). But Albion will speak to Carlos Corberan in an interview process. Also admire Rowett & Chris Wilder been on radar before.”
Best one out there
Dyche may not be the most attractive in terms of his style of football, but he’s known to get the job done and that’s what the Baggies currently need.
He constantly punched above his weight with Burnley and even got them to Europe with a budget comparable to a Championship team more than a Premier League one.
Most if not all players under his tutelage at Turf Moor improved and they constantly made it hard for big teams to get points off them.
West Brom cannot continue hiring Championship level managers as they may forever get stuck in the second tier or worse, could suffer relegation.
They have to pay above the top and be a tempting prospect for managers that have jobs at other clubs in other leagues as well.
We’re unsure why they’re only looking at managers based in England as there are overseas coaches who could do a decent job as well for them.
