West Brom player complained numerous times about Steve Bruce to his agent
West Brom senior players were unhappy with Steve Bruce’s leadership at The Hawthorns prior to his sacking on Monday, according to The Athletic.
The news outlet reported on 11 October that one anonymous player complained to his agent numerous times about the former Albion manager’s lack of preparation.
Journalist Elias Burke wrote: “On the pitch, similar criticisms have been levelled towards Bruce by fans and, privately, some of the players, too.

“A player’s representative — who wished to remain anonymous out of respect for his client’s relationship with the club — told The Athletic that his client had expressed on several occasions that he had felt a lack of preparation from the coaching staff.”
Shocking
It’s ridiculous that Bruce was hired by West Brom to begin with.
He got the job seemingly as a favour from Ron Gourlay, who took a matter of hours to appoint the 61-year-old after being hired as Albion’s new chief executive in February.
Gourlay said how Bruce was on a shortlist of one while West Brom seemed to go down a similar route in the summer with their recruitment, literally signing Erik Pieters because he’s Bruce’s neighbour [The Athletic].
Bruce’s worth-ethic was worse than a teenager sat playing Football Manager in the early hours of the morning.

We’ve all spent more time trying to find players to sign for our teams on computer games than he did in real life at a real football club.
It’s pathetic.
Albion fans are glad he’s gone but should remain angry at the way this club has been run and also the fact that Gourlay remains as chief executive.
Guochuan Lai has axed high-ranking officials in the past so why shouldn’t he do it again now?
Gourlay cannot be trusted with the power he’s got at The Hawthorns.
He uses it to his leisure, to give favours to his pals.
And also to lie to fans.
In other West Brom news, an Albion player liked a fan’s message saying Bruce should be sacked.
