Swansea City boss Russell Martin speaks out on links to West Brom job
Swansea City boss Russell Martin has spoken out on rumours linking him with the vacant managerial job at West Brom.
Steve Bruce was finally sacked from his post at The Hawthorns on Monday morning and the rumour mill has been going wild over who will replace him ever since.
Martin confessed that it would take something “really special” to prize him away from Swansea and he and his team are really happy in Wales.
“Until Julian [Winter] or someone at the club rings me and says someone has knocked on the door or made a phone call or whatever, it is what it is. We’re really happy here,” he said as quoted by Wales online.
“I have said that all the way along. I wouldn’t say that if we didn’t feel that. Our families are so settled here. We love the staff we are working with, and the group of players.
“When you’re happy you feel a certain sense of fulfilment. You are seeing so many young players go on the pitch and show really good things. That’s the best bit of our job. It would take something really special to take us away from that.”
It seems Martin may be staying in Wales, he had been listed this week by The Athletic as a potential candidate to take over the reins at The Hawthorns.

Special.
The Albion face an anxious wait over who will be their next boss, it seems linked managers with decent resumes keep coming out and squashing rumours.
Martin represented the Baggies with a decent alternative to the bigger names linked with their top job and he would be a solid acquisition.
You only have to look as far as the current Championship table to see his prowess, Swansea are currently in the Play-Off position and are on a four-game winning streak.
Martin spoke of his happiness at Swansea but he also did mention that it would take something “really special” to prize him away, a glimmer of hope perhaps?
West Brom is a big job and is considered a bigger club than Swansea, it could be that if Albion made a massive push for Martin he could be persuaded.
This is very much up in the air but the fact he stated that something could sway him away from Swansea indicates that if the right offer came in he may leave.
In other West Brom news, a player reportedly complained numerous times about Steve Bruce to his agent before he was sacked
