“The fans will have seen a lot of Caleb if they’d watched the cup run we had last year. For me, he’s a player with huge potential,” said the Albion interim coach as quoted by Birmingham live.

“He’s very level headed, which is great. He’s got a lot of physical attributes, he’s obviously a big, strong lad but he’s so level headed. He’s a fantastic learner.

“He only needs to be told something once and he picks it up, and he’s very humble as well – he has a great humility about him. That’s going to stand him in good stead. I think he’s got a great future here.”

Learning.

It was a great choice from Albion to let Taylor go out on loan and get some vital first-team experience playing in the lower leagues, he’s thriving at Cheltenham.

And maybe this is the route for them to go down with fellow youngsters, why keep playing them in the Premier League 2 when they are ready to play at a higher level?

Wade Elliott has done a terrific job of utilising him at the League One outfit, and it’s nice to see a top talent getting playing time on loan rather than languishing on the bench.

Taylor certainly has all the qualities to come back to Albion on start pushing for a starting position, whatever new boss comes in may choose to do just this.

There’s no need to rush him just yet, but if the 19-year-old continues to put in solid outings in League One he might throw his hat into the Baggies mix.
