Sky Sports pundit top three West Brom manager candidates, hails importance of experience
We’re delighted to welcome former West Brom striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at The Hawthorns…
West Brom are currently searching for Steve Bruce’s successor, and Kevin Campbell has named three managers he thinks the club should consider.
Bruce was dismissed earlier this month after leaving the Baggies down in 22nd in the Championship after just one win in 13 games.
With relegation now a serious threat if things don’t change, the club need to make sure the next appointment is the right one.

Campbell has gathered a shortlist of his own, with three managers making the cut.
Speaking exclusively to West Brom News, Campbell said: “Scott Parker, who has just left Bournemouth – he’s done really well. He did a great job at Fulham, done a great job at Bournemouth but finds himself out of a job.
“You could look at him and say he’s a pretty good candidate – he’s got promotions.
“But you could look at a couple of the candidates, such as Sean Dyche, and say he’s been waiting for the right spot. He could be looking at this job and thinking ‘I could do something with that squad’.
“I know Roy Keane’s turned around and said no he’s not getting involved, but you just never know.
“The thing is, these guys are going to come in and make demands on the squad. Whoever comes in is going to have to demand from the squad and they’re going to need the experienced players on side.
“I don’t know if Steve Bruce got the 100% buy-in from the experienced players, because they are the ones who tend to police the dressing room.

“So I think the three I’ve mentioned have a chance, but who is to know what West Bromwich Albion are going to do, which way they’re going to go – I just don’t know.
“You need someone who’s going to get in there and get a hold of the experienced players and lead them because if the experienced players go the youngsters go.“
Campbell clearly isn’t falling for Keane’s comment and thinks the former Sunderland and Ipswich Town boss can do a good job at the Hawthorns.
Dyche and Parker are both definitely in the running and have Championship experience as well as time in the Premier League.
