Approach update emerges on West Brom pursuit to hire Liverpool-born boss Steven Schumacher
West Brom are reportedly yet to make an approach to sign Plymouth Argyle’s Liverpool-born manager Steven Schumacher.
According to the Plymouth Herald on 17 October, while the Englishman has been linked with the vacant Hawthorns hot seat, no formal approach has been made by the Championship club.
After sacking Steve Bruce, the Baggies hierarchy are looking to appoint a replacement and have been linked with many managers.

Right one for the job?
It’s a big question as to whether or not Schumacher would be the right man for the job and take the club back to the Premier League.
If not promotion, at least a chance to make the play-offs would be something that the board would expect from the new manager.
After a window in which they signed a number of decent players, they should not be struggling to stay in the second division but do whatever they can to get promoted.
Schumacher has been labelled as a “highly-rated” manager and there’s no denying that his stock is currently on the rise.
However, that’s his first senior managerial job in the game and he’s probably a tad inexperienced when it comes to handling big egos.
Michal Carrick, for example, may have only managed a handful games for Manchester United, but he has coached at a higher level and one knows that he would command the respect of the dressing room – something Schumacher may struggle to do.
