Journalist labels West Brom ‘unsustainable’ and reveals shocking stat after horror first half v Bristol City

West Brom headed into the dressing room 2-0 down against Bristol City after a terrible defensive display at The Hawthorns.

West Brom’s defensive fragility was on show once again on Tuesday night as the Baggies fell 2-0 down in the first half against Bristol City thanks to goals from Joe Williams and Nahki Wells.

Birmingham Live journalist Joe Chapman delivered a scathing review of West Brom’s first-half display and revealed a stat that reflects how poor the Baggies have been this season.

Via his Twitter, Chapman said: Half time. It’s the sixth time this season (in what is their 15th game) that Albion have conceded at least two goals in a game (and it’s only HT).

“It’s unsustainable.”

Manager can’t come soon enough

If the West Brom board weren’t already aware, they need to hurry up with their hiring process of the new manager.

It’s now been eight days since Bruce was sacked by the club, yet the Baggies seem no closer to hiring his successor.

West Brom

The rumour mill has been busy spouting plenty of names and candidates, but the club is taking plenty of time to complete the process.

Tuesday night’s first-half showing proved that the wait can’t continue for too long. Richard Beale is doing his best to take charge of the team but it’s quickly been shown that he’s not up to the task with the first team.

Points are quickly slipping out of West Brom’s grip, and that’ll only open up a bigger gap to Championship safety. Sure, there’s plenty of time left to turn things around this season, but it gets tougher as each week ticks by.

If the club learned anything on Tuesday, it’s that urgency is needed at The Hawthorns. The squad are losing more and more confidence and need a manager to lead the way.
