Sky Sports pundit urges West Brom to get rid of Jake Livermore and Matt Phillips after defeat v Bristol City
We’re delighted to welcome former West Brom striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at The Hawthorns…
Kevin Campbell believes now is the right time for West Brom to offload veteran duo Jake Livermore and Matt Phillips.
Both Livermore and Phillips have experienced rocky times at West Brom, and they both find themselves slowly falling down the pecking order at The Hawthorns.
With a promising batch of youngsters coming through and the club ready to embark on a new chapter with a new manager, Campbell has urged West Brom to refresh the squad and sell Livermore and Phillips.

Speaking exclusively to West Brom News, Campbell said: “There’s always a shout to refresh.
“The new manager who comes in, he might not want to be dealing with these guys who are underachieving.
“He might think to himself – this needs a refresh. These guys have been here a while and they’ve had success, and they’ve had failure.
“Right now, they don’t seem motivated and they’d rather have and make their own stamp on this football club.
“I could see a new manager coming in and wanting to change things, and those two players in particular I don’t think they’ll struggle to move them on because they’re experienced players.

“The new manager will want to bring in his own people.
“If ever it’s going to happen, the time is right.“
With a new manager comes a fresh start, and whoever it is that takes the hot seat deserves to have his say on changes to the squad.
If that means saying goodbye to experienced players such as Livermore and Phillips, then so be it.
