West Brom could have new manager in place for Millwall clash this weekend – Sky Sports News
West Brom could have their new manager in the dugout for Saturday’s Championship clash with Millwall, according to Sky Sports News.
The Baggies sacked Steve Bruce last week and have had Richard Beale in place as the caretaker manager for the last two league games, beating Reading 2-0 and then losing 2-0 to Bristol City on Tuesday night.
That defeat has accelerated plans to hire a new manager, and chief executive Ron Gourlay has now interviewed several candidates with a view to bringing someone in before the weekend according to Sky Sports News [19 October].
“We’re told the club has completed a number of interviews today, some of those second interviews,” he said on air.
“The club expect to confirm an appointment in the next few days, ideally before the game against Millwall which is on Saturday.
“The club bosses have been determined to complete an extensive and thorough process which they now feel is in it’s final stages.”
Finally
It’s been a long time coming and it’s taken way too long but it seems as though we’ve finally got there in the end.
There doesn’t seem to be a name coming out as to who the preferred candidate is just yet, but the club are clearly moving quickly to get someone in place as soon as possible.

If someone could be brought in ahead of the Millwall game and given a chance to work with the team, even for a couple of days, it would go a long way to helping the team prepare for the rest of the season and potentially even getting a result on Saturday.
Whether it will happen or not it’s too early to say, and whether the appointment will be a popular one or not is unknown too, but finally there is something to look forward to.
A new boss is on the way and Baggies fans can start thinking about the rest of the season instead of just the next game.
