West Brom getting close to new manager appointment

West Brom are now getting “close” to appointing their next manager, as per Simon Stone.

Nine days have passed since the Baggies parted ways with Steve Bruce as they have been taking time to find the perfect replacement.

The BBC journalist has reported on Twitter that the club have interviewed several candidates on Wednesday (19 October) and they are now in a position to appoint a new boss.

“West Brom getting close to announcing new manager. Already interviewed several candidates and others today,” wrote Stone on Twitter.

At the moment, it is anybody’s guess about who would become the next manager.

Richard Beale took the caretaker role and guided the club to their second win of the season in his first game. But it was followed by a disappointing defeat against Bristol City.

Sky Sports journalist Rob Dorsett suggested on 19 October that the club won’t rush in appointing their next manager, but it seems they can’t wait any longer.

West Brom

West Brom are currently in 20th place, one point above the relegation zone in the Championship, and if they don’t act now, they could be in great trouble.

The Baggies do have a strong squad that are good enough to fight for promotion, but instead they are in a mess at the moment. The club must get their next appointment bang on.

A lot of names have been circulating in the media, and the Baggies have spoken to at least nine or ten candidates. It’s about time they get their act right.
