Carlos Corberan keen to return to England as West Brom put foot on gas for appointment

Carlos Corberan is keen to return to England as he gets set to become the new manager of West Brom, according to the Express and Star.

The Spaniard has been out of work since leaving Olympiakos, where he went after taking Huddersfield to the Championship play-off finals.

West Brom are said to be accelerating talks to get a deal over the line, with Corberan seeming to win the race to take over from Steve Bruce and the mess he created.

West Brom

Richard Beale has been in interim charge for three games, taking home the one win and three points from a possible nine in the Championship.

That still leaves the Baggies in serious trouble, with the defeat at Millwall over the weekend placing them in 23rd, only one place above Huddersfield who have a game in hand.

Corberan will be looking to change that instantly, with a potential first game coming up against Sheffield United on Saturday 29th October.

West Brom

Different.

West Brom fans need to see profound changes from the past couple of years.

After watching the dross on show from Bruce and his tactics, Corberan will hopefully bring an exciting brand of football to The Hawthorns that the players buy in to immediately.

As a disciple of Marcelo Bielsa from their time together at Leeds, we may finally see this squad run into the ground, rather than attitudes taking over instantly.

Too many of these so-called big names have had an easy ride in recent years, and change has been needed for quite some time, and it is certainly coming.

Corberan has his work cut out to turn this around, but he has the players to easily do it, it is just up to him to find that perfect formula that appears to have been missing for years.

With talks accelerating, the confirmation should be coming in no time.
