West Brom still to agree precise contract terms with ex-Leeds United assistant Carlos Corberan

West Brom have reportedly not reached a contract agreement with former Leeds United assistant coach Carlos Corberan to be their new manager.

According to the BBC on 24 October, Corberan, who was Marcelo Bielsa’s assistant at Elland Road, is the person the hierarchy wants to succeed Steve Bruce.

While both parties are keen to strike a deal, amid reports of an announcement being made in the next few years, they are yet to reach an agreement on the precise terms of the contract.

Get it sorted

Brom cannot afford to waste more time in their pursuit to secure Corberan’s services as it is now clear he wants the job.

For managers like Sean Dyche and Michael Carrick, it was never really clear that they fancied a move to the Hawthorns and helping guide this team back to the top flight.

Corberan, who has Premier League experience as a coach and not a number one, will be a decent addition as he plays football the right way and has Bielsa as one of his greatest influences.

Nobody is expecting him to have the same impact as the Argentine did at Leeds, but the least fans will want is good football and the team starting to pick up right results.

Last season, Steve Cooper took over Nottingham Forest and from relegation favourites, they made the play-offs and won promotion to the Premier League.

This West Brom squad has players that can finish in the top six and it’s about finding the right manager to get the best out of them.
