Jorge Alarcon highly likely to join Carlos Corberan at West Brom

Carlos Corberan ally Jorge Alarcon is reportedly “highly likely” to join him at West Brom in the due course as he’s now taken over the reins at the Hawthorns.

According to Birmingham Live on 26 October, the 37-year-old Spaniard is one of Corberan’s highly-trusted allies as he has been his assistant coach at different clubs.

James Morrison and Gary Walsh are two first-team coaches that the former Huddersfield Town manager has inherited at the club and he will bring in more in the due course.

Good news

It’s important for managers to have their trusted henchmen in charge of different roles at clubs and it’s good to see that West Brom are allowing Corberan this liberty.

He will inherit two coaches which could be because they want someone who knows the ropes and the culture of the club.

More importantly, they know the players and could facilitate the smooth transition of the new manager.

Fans certainly want new ideas and a different philosophy and we’re certain that Corberan will be nothing like Sam Allardyce or Steve Bruce.

He has taken inspiration from Marcelo Bielsa who played football the right way – high tempo and on the front foot.

We’re excited to see just how far the former Huddersfield manager can take the club and whether or not he makes them play-off contenders as Steve Cooper did with Nottingham Forest last season and took them to the Premier League.
