West Brom: Carlos Corberan will get best out of on loan ace Caleb Taylor

Carlos Corberan is now the new manager of West Brom and he has a lot of major decisions to make with some of the Baggies’ squad.

The same group of players, give or take a handful, have failed both Valerien Ismael and Steve Bruce since they were relegated from the Premier League in the 2020-21 season.

The Spaniard, who formerly managed Huddersfield to the playoff final before a short spell at Olympiakos, may want to look at selling some of the players who have been so disappointing but there is one youngster he has to keep around.

Caleb Taylor is not even at The Hawthorns right now as he spends some time on loan at Cheltenham Town in League One but he could be the ideal centre-half to put into practice Corberan’s system and tactics.

The former Leeds United coach likes to play progressive football from back to front and the 19-year-old has already proved his ability to do that with the Robins.

“He’s been excellent. Over all the games they have played he has been Cheltenham’s most consistent player so far this season,” Gloucestershire Live reporter Jon Plamer said to the Express and Star.

If Albion do have the option to recall him when January rolls around, they absolutely should be taking that up because he is performing to very high levels only a few places below the Baggies in the footballing pyramid.

Given how poorly the likes of Kyle Bartley and others have been in defence this season and the lowly position West Brom ergo find themselves in, surely now is the time for the youth to get a chance and there is no better manager than Corberan to make that a reality.

In other West Brom news, the Spaniard could be set to make some major changes behind the scenes at The Hawthorns presuming he gets his way.
