Carlos Corberan and Ron Gourlay set to face the media after West Brom announcement

Carlos Corberan will be officially unveiled at the new West Brom manager at 5pm on Thursday, 27 September according to Joe Chapman.

The Express and Star’s Lewis Cox also revealed (via Twitter, 27 October) that Ron Gourlay and Corberan will both face the media after the unveiling.

Corberan was confirmed as Steve Bruce’s successor at The Hawthorns on Wednesday morning (26 October) after Albion’s long-winded managerial search.

Straight to it

There’s no time for Corberan to feel his way into the job at The Hawthorns, he simply has to get down to business and turn this sinking ship around fast.

The Baggies face a tough run of fixtures with Sheffield United and Queen’s Park Rangers before the international break. Realistically, the Baggies need to target survival as their first priority this season. They have more than enough to stay in the division and the Spaniard should be able to get these players performing to drag them to at least midtable.

West Brom

It’s going to take something completely remarkable to see West Brom get anywhere near the playoffs this season. Despite the league being weaker than in previous years, teams who are already a long way ahead of the Baggies will be consistently picking up points.

The Hawthorns faithful will be happy with a change of mood around the club, some added positivity and perhaps a more exciting brand of football.
