Carlos Corberan names Jorge Alarcon and Jaime Monroy as backroom staff at West Brom
Following Carlos Corberan’s appointment at West Brom on Tuesday night, the Spaniard has now named the backroom staff who will join him at The Hawthorns.
Corberan is the man tasked with pulling the Baggies out of the drop zone, after West Brom slumped to 23rd in the Championship under former boss Steve Bruce.
The former Huddersfield boss took charge of training on Wednesday, and just hours later the club revealed his backroom staff.

The official West Brom website confirmed that Jorge Alarcon and Jaime Monroy will join the Spaniard in the Midlands. Alarcon is Corberan’s long-term assistant having worked alongside him at both Huddersfield and Olympiacos.
Monroy has also worked with Corberan before during his time in the Leeds youth setup, while he also has managerial experience of his own in Australia and Greece.
Backed by the board
While it seems an obvious decision to make, it’s promising that West Brom have supported Corberan in bringing his ideal backroom team with him to The Hawthorns.
Corberan already faces the difficult task of hauling the Baggies out of the drop zone, so he’ll need as much support and input as he can get from his staff.

One of the only criticisms fans can have of Corberan is his inexperience in management, but by surrounding himself with an ideal team of staff he can lean on them when needed.
Plus, both Alarcon and Monroy having experience in English football is a major bonus as many coaches struggle to adapt to the style of the Championship.
But the board need to continue their support of Corberan throughout the season, and investment will be demanded by Corberan and his team in January.
