Carlos Corberan opens up on West Brom January transfer window plans

Carlos Corberan has been officially unveiled as the new West Brom boss on Thursday (27 October).

The new Baggies boss is focused on getting the best out of his squad, as remained coy when asked about January transfer window plans and whether he will be guaranteed funds.

Ron Gourlay, however, assured everyone that Corberan will be provided funds to sign players if he feels necessary.

“My full concentration with Ron was about the squad that we have and getting the very best out of them,” said Corberan, when asked about on January window, as quoted by Birmingham Live.

Step by step

Corberan has carefully avoided questions on January transfers and funds, and that’s the right thing to do.

The confidence in the squad is shattered at the moment as the club find themselves in the relegation zone.

West Brom do have a very good squad, and they should not be in this position.

The manager has made it clear that he wants to make it a competitive squad, and right now his focus is to get the best out of this team.

It sends a strong message to the players as well. If the manager speaks about making drastic changes, and chopping players in his first press conference, it could have a negative impact on the team.

Corberan has already managed clubs in the Championship and he loves to play an attractive brand of football.

His primary focus will be to stop the current rot and get some wins under the belt. After that, he can implement his own style and philosophy.
