West Brom to copy Marcelo Bielsa weight checks from Leeds United
West Brom are set to bring a trick Carlos Corberan learned from Marcelo Bielsa at Leeds United to the Hawthorns, according to the Daily Mail.
The veteran Argentinian coach was famous for working his players harder than any other manager would dare and included the weighing of players as soon as they entered the training facility in Yorkshire.
Corberan worked under Bielsa for much of his time at Elland Road and has clearly been taking notes of what he does to try and emulate his success across many different clubs.

The boss is likely to get together with his staff and decide an ideal weight for each player and demand that they remain at that level consistently as he tightens the strings at the club.
He is also thought to be very strict with diet and nutrition for his players during his tenure as West Brom manager in an attempt to gain every last possible advantage he can.
Over the top
He is yet to even manage one game yet but Corberan is in danger of getting lost in the numbers of football and forgetting that these are real human beings who don’t all work the same.
Some people can become overly obsessed with their weight and therefore start very unhealthy habits even if they are losing the pounds on the scales.

Forcing players to weigh themselves every day and telling them to hit a certain weight might work for some but others will be overawed by the sudden changes and it could end very badly.
The right help has to be readily available for anybody struggling with this change on a human level to hopefully ensure no player goes flying off the rails due to the Spaniard’s demands.
West Brom should be an all-inclusive football club and this is effectively saying anybody perceived to be even slightly overweight is not welcome and that is a dangerous precedent to set.
In other West Brom news, Phil Brown has his own concerns about Corberan having seemingly judged him before a ball is kicked under his stewardship.
