West Brom attacker Karlan Grant slammed by Chris Lepkowski after what he did in loss v Sheffield United

Chris Lepkowski slammed West Brom forward Karlan Grant for his lack of composure in front of goal against Sheffield United.

The Baggies lost their first game in charge under Carlos Corberan by a 2-0 scoreline at home despite dominating possession and creating more chances.

Grant played the entire game as the hosts’ main attacking threat but failed to get on the score sheet in what would’ve been a disappointing outing for him.

Via Twitter, Lepkowski wrote, “Grant’s lack of instinct exposed there. Great pass from TGH to Phillips…but Grant peels off for the short pass, leaving nobody in the box. Waste of a good chance.”

Cannot carry on

West Brom cannot expect to keep winning games if Grant is the answer to their attacking woes.

They have had issues up front and have signed strikers as well to take care of them, but unfortunately, it’s not worked.

Daryl Dike is still ruled out due to injury and Corberan would surely have wanted him available for this game.

It’s not that the Baggies did not create chances, it’s just that they did not have someone clinical enough to put the ball in the back of the net.

With them in the relegation Zone, they need these kinds of games to go their way and unfortunately, that’s not happening, unless they have someone they can rely on.

Grant has not been in the best of form for a while now and it would make sense if the new man in charge now takes a big call and leaves him out of his eleven for the next few games.
