Sky Sports pundit: Carlos Corberan has ‘seen something’ at West Brom amid David Button decision
We’re delighted to welcome former West Brom striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at The Hawthorns…
Carlos Corberan has opted to play Alex Palmer over David Button in his first two West Brom games and Kevin Campbell believes he’s seen something in training.
Corberan has endured a mixed start to life as West Brom manager. After starting his tenure with a disappointing 2-0 loss to Sheffield United, his Baggies side responded with a 1-0 win over Blackpool on Tuesday night.
One constant in both games however was that Corberan opted to start Palmer over Button between the sticks.

Button started the season as West Brom’s No.1, but he’s since fallen behind Palmer in the pecking order. Campbell believes Corberan may have “seen something” in Palmer to make his decision.
Speaking exclusively to West Brom News, Campbell said: “We don’t know what the manager sees or what he wants, but the key is that he’s the manager now.
“Any manager that comes in, everyone virtually starts from zero.
“Maybe he’s seen something in Palmer and that’s what he’s gone for. We know football is a funny old game and it can get crazy at times, but Corberan knows what he wants and it’s his decision to make.“
Corberan was likely watching the Baggies in the weeks prior to his announcement and noted that Palmer was delivering better results between the sticks compared to Button.

Unfortunately for Button, he made too many mistakes early on in the season, and fans and pundits rightfully called for Bruce to make a change.
Corberan has taken that decision into his own hands early on in his managerial spell and has seemingly sided with Palmer as his first-choice shot-stopper.
