Ian Holloway fumes at referee after key decision in West Brom win v QPR
Ian Holloway was left fuming after Queen’s Park Rangers weren’t awarded a penalty in their 1-0 Championship defeat to West Brom.
Albert Adomah appeared to be dragged down in the box in the 86th minute of the match but referee Thomas Bramall opted to wave play on.
The former R’s manager was less than impressed by the decision and felt it Michael Beale’s men are right to feel aggrieved.
Talking on ITV’s English Football League highlights [43 min, 5 November], he said: “Silly question, it’s totally and utterly a penalty. Come on man, honestly who’s the referee? Sometimes you just don’t get them.”
Who cares
Everyone should be aware of just how poor the officiating is in the EFL at present. However, at times decisions do balance themselves out and the Baggies have been on the end of a few poor ones this season. Carlos Corberan will be ecstatic to have picked up three points in West London against a side who are pushing for promotion.
Clean sheets should hopefully become a more consistent feature under Corberan, with his Huddersfield side building their success off of a solid defensive unit.

The midweek win over Blackpool wasn’t pretty but it was certainly needed, and it looks to have given Albion a springboard to put together a good run of form. The Baggies do have some quality players on their books, who could propel them quickly up the Championship table.
Going to one of the league’s better teams and picking up a victory shows they have more than enough to pull them away from the relegation zone.
In other West Brom news, Chris Lepkowski has addressed rumours of the Baggies going into administration after what happened recently.
