Daryl Dike to feature for West Brom under-21s v Nottingham Forest

West Brom striker Daryl Dike is stepping up on his recovery, and he will feature in the Under-21 game against Nottingham Forest counterpart, as per Lewis Cox.

The Express and Star journalist wrote on Twitter (7 November) that Dike could play some part against Stoke City if he doesn’t pick any further injury.

This is a huge boost for the club if he remains fit and hopefully can dazzle after the World Cup.

Cox wrote on Twitter: “Well I won’t be going to Keys Park. Daryl Dike will feature for the West Brom 21s v Forest at The Hawthorns this evening. Big step in his recovery.

“Points to minutes v Stoke on Sat if the striker can make it through unscathed this eve. Will be a real boost when action resumes next month.”

Massive boost

The Baggies paid a high transfer fee to sign Dike but they haven’t seen the best of him as yet. The USA centre-forward has badly struggled with injuries since joining the club, and it has been a frustrating spell for him.

Last season, he managed only two appearances and has managed only one this season, and is yet to open his scoring account for the club.

However, he could now play a huge role this season under Carlos Corberan. His return to fitness couldn’t have come at a better time.

The Baggies have just picked up back-to-back wins in the Championship for the first time this season. It seems the confidence is gradually growing in the team under the new manager.

In both games, against Blackpool and QPR, they managed to keep a clean sheet and won by a 1-0 margin. They can expect to score more freely if Dike recaptures his old form after coming from injuries.

In other West Brom news, Chris Lepkowski has addressed rumours of the Baggies going into administration after what happened recently.
