Sky Sports pundit piles praise on Kyle Bartley for ‘incredible’ West Brom feat – ‘These are the scripts you can’t write’
We’re delighted to welcome former West Brom striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at The Hawthorns…
After a tough start to the season, Kyle Bartley has shone under Carlos Corberan at West Brom with two clean sheets and a match-winning goal.
Bartley started the season poorly under Steve Bruce, and with his West Brom contract set to run out at the end of the season he would have been worrying about his future at the football club.
But the 31-year-old is headed in the right direction for a contract extension at The Hawthorns after some superb performances under new manager Corberan.

Ex-Baggies striker Kevin Campbell piled praise on the centre-back and labelled his turnaround “incredible”.
Speaking exclusively to West Brom News, Campbell said: “It’s the life of a footballer. It’s absolutely crazy.
“Everything seems like it’s turning to crap and then all of a sudden a new manager comes in, the team starts picking up and Kyle Bartley is performing with two clean sheets and a winner against QPR.
“These are the scripts you can’t write, it’s incredible.“
Fans expected an upturn of form under Corberan, but not many will have expected such a huge improvement in Bartley.

Just as it looked as though his West Brom career was dwindling and an exit was on the cards, he has produced some mightily impressive performances for Corberan and looks to be one of the first names on the team sheet.
There are still plenty of games to go and Bartley will have to show consistency if he is to be awarded a new contract at the club, but he’s definitely headed in the right direction and his match-winning goal against QPR will only boost his confidence even more.
If Bartley can spend the World Cup break resting and reaching peak fitness levels, then he could have a pivotal part to play in West Brom’s push up the league in the second half of the season.
