Roberto Carlos makes unexpected West Brom and Birmingham City admission
Brazil legend and World Cup winner Roberto Carlos bizarrely named West Brom as a team he loves to watch in his own leisure time.
West Brom’s fanbase has been joined by a legendary footballing figure in the shape of Roberto Carlos. The 49-year-old retired from the sport as a Brazil and Real Madrid legend, but he’s revealed that he loves to watch the Baggies in his spare time.
“Your domestic league is amazing,” Carlos admitted to The Telegraph.

Carlos then reportedly listed West Brom, Fulham and Birmingham City among the teams to have featured on his TV at home in Madrid: “I watch everything here,” he added.
Bizarre
Not many Baggies fans would have this on their 2022 bingo cards! Carlos is known around the globe as one of the best full-backs to ever grace the sport, and it’s a bizarre thought to imagine him sitting and watching the Baggies with a World Cup winners medal around his neck.

He’s admired by Brazilian and Real Madrid fans for his trophy-laden career, but he simply can’t resist watching the Baggies in the Championship on a Saturday afternoon – and who can blame him!
It’s a shame Carlos’ love for the club didn’t arrive during his playing days – although even at 49 he’d likely give Erik Pieters and Conor Townsend a run for their money at left-back in Carlos Corberan’s side.
After proclaiming he watches West Brom, hopefully he makes an appearance or two down at The Hawthorns – fans may just about forgive him for the Birmingham City line.
But for now, Carlos can join his fellow West Brom fans in hoping that the club can turn things around and quickly climb the Championship table this season.
