Carlos Corberan praises club recruitment after Brandon Thomas-Asante recent form
West Brom manager Carlos Corberan has praised the dramatic rise of striker Brandon Thomas-Asante following his stunning goal against Stoke City, as reported by Express and Star.
The Baggies enter the World Cup break on the back of three wins and as many clean sheets over Blackpool, QPR and Stoke City and have subsequently risen out of the Championship relegation zone.
After the winter break, West Brom will return to action against Sunderland on Monday 12 December.

Thomas-Asante struck his first goal in 10 games since his move from Salford City in the summer with a spectacular overhead kick against Stoke City, and his manager is hopeful that this is just the beginning for the 23-year-old striker.
Baggies manager Corberan said: “He is one player with skills, one player that the club brings before I arrive here and it was not a very typical situation to move a League Two player to the Championship.
“It shows we have a very good recruitment department in the club because I am using these type of resources the club provide. Asante, for me, can score these goals and has these skills.”

Prospect
Corberan will be licking his lips at the opportunity to play Thomas-Asante alongside Daryl Dike when the Championship returns in December.
The 23-year-old forward has demonstrated his natural eye for a stunning finish, as shown when he acrobatically twisted in mid-flight to score his first goal for the club against Burnley in September after being brought on as a substitute and almost netting a similar overhead kick against QPR.
Although he fell out of favour under Steve Bruce’s in his miserable final weeks at the club – with 6 of his 12 appearances for the club coming from the bench – he can now be given a new leash of life under Corberan.
With Dike now getting back to full fitness during the World Cup break, the Spanish manager has time to properly blend the duo into a fearsome strike force that few defences will be able to withstand.
Having climbed out of the relegation zone, and now only lying six points off the top-half, there is still plenty to play for West Brom when the season resumes next month.
