West Brom striker Daryl Dike aims dig at English football fans after 0-0 draw v USA

West Brom striker Daryl Dike took to Twitter to aim a dig at English football fans after the USA’s 0-0 bore draw against England on 25 November 2022.

Dike missed out on making the USA’s FIFA World Cup squad but that has evidently done little to dampen his spirits in recent days.

The 22-year-old forward cheekily claimed on Twitter that football is called “soccer” now after the American national team’s impressive efforts against the Three Lions.

“It’s called soccer now idc,” the striker exclaimed on Twitter.

Terrific banter from Dike there, it’s tough not to roll out of your seat in hysterics at that one.

West Brom

Strong second half.

Dike needs a strong second half to the season to redeem himself for the Albion, his injury-plagued time at the Hawthorns has been frustrating to witness.

Under the guidance of Carlos Corberan however, Dike can become one of the league’s most promising forwards, his goals will be needed to catapult West Brom up the league table.

The Spaniard has yet to settle on his favoured frontman yet either, which gives Dike the chance to cement his claim as the Baggies’ go-to man for goals.

Hopefully, the American can repay some of the £7m West Brom spent on him in January, it’s mad to think how much hype he arrived with.

That hype has somewhat sailed into obscurity, but this may be a good thing for the 22-year-old, it means there is far less pressure on his shoulders now.

Every fan of the club wants Dike to bag big returns, with luck, he could well just do that.
