Kevin Campbell predicts West Brom to ‘kick on’ after ‘bonding’ Spain trip
We’re delighted to welcome former West Brom striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at The Hawthorns…
West Brom are currently in Spain on a hot-weather training camp and Kevin Campbell believes the Baggies will use it to “kick on” when the Championship returns.
The Baggies ended the first half of the season with three consecutive victories in the Championship, and in an attempt to keep up the momentum they jetted off to Spain this month.
A behind-closed-doors friendly against Elche has been organised to maintain fitness and match sharpness, before the squad returns to The Hawthorns to prepare for their December 12 match against Sunderland.

With the club currently sat in 21st, Carlos Corberan will be hoping to continue their climb up the table in the second half of the season. Campbell thinks their winter training will help them “kick on” and do just that.
Speaking exclusively to West Brom News, Campbell said: “I think it’s really important. You can get a lot of work done and bonding as a team and a squad.
“Plus, it’s important because of the manager – the players will get to know the manager and the coaching staff a bit better. He can really focus on what he wants and get to work on it.
“I’m sure West Bromwich Albion will kick on big time from the second half of the season and Boxing Day. It’s a really important time for them.“

West Brom look like a completely different side since Corberan’s arrival and their goal in the New Year will certainly be to climb the table and push for playoff spots.
As it stands, the Baggies are only eight points off sixth-placed Millwall, and the Championship prides itself on its competitiveness and unpredictability.
With the squad fully fit and fresh from a lengthy training camp, West Brom will be flowing with confidence as they look to pick up exactly where they left off.
