Sky Sports pundit insists Carlos Corberan has had FA Cup choice snatched away by poor West Brom start
We’re delighted to welcome former West Brom striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at The Hawthorns…
Kevin Campbell insists Carlos Corberan has to “go for it” in the FA Cup to try and make up for the terrible first half of the season by West Brom.
The Baggies endured a terrible start to the season under Steve Bruce, and Corberan’s three successive wins to end the first half of the season only lifted the side to 21st in the table.
All focus in the remainder of the season will be climbing the table and trying to salvage the season, although Campbell thinks the Spaniard has no choice but to go all-out in the FA Cup too.

West Brom were handed an away trip to Chesterfield in the third round of the competition – a clash Campbell insists Albion must win.
Speaking exclusively to West Brom News, Campbell said: “I think Carlos Corberan is going to be in the business of winning games, I don’t think it matters who they’re playing against.
“If it’s against Chesterfield then it’s Chesterfield – if they would have got a Premier League team they would have tried to win that as well. I think because of the way they’ve started the season, they can’t pick or choose.
“They’ve got to try and win as many games as they can, and if that’s against Chesterfield in the FA Cup then they’re going to have to go for it. I don’t see it being an issue.“

A cup run this season would certainly go a long way in improving the feeling among the Baggies fanbase. Excitement and expectation is already building after a great start to Corberan’s tenure, but the cup campaign only adds more opportunity for West Brom to turn things around.
On top of that, Corberan now has a full and fit squad at his disposal and a cup run could help him give every player minutes as well as help build momentum for the league campaign.
