Spotted: Footage emerges of embarrassing Jake Livermore moment in West Brom friendly defeat v Elche
West Brom closed their training camp in Spain with a 1-0 friendly defeat against Elche on 2 December, where embarrassing footage has emerged of Jake Livermore.
Elche scored the winner on the hour mark through Ezequiel Ponce, but the build-up to the goal (footage shared by Elche football via their Twitter handle) gives a grim picture, even though it’s just a friendly game.
Carlos Corberan gave minutes to the entirety of his senior squad as training and fitness were the main purposes behind the trip. he won’t be happy with the manner of the goal conceded.
Livermore picked up a ball from a throw, leisurely looked around the pitch as if he would now play a glamorous pass, and then picked a white shirt amid four red shirts around him.
It was a gift from the Elche attacker who played it in the path of Ponce and he made no mistake.
That’s Livermore for you.
Livermore, 33, joined the Baggies in 2016 and has made over 200 appearances for the club in all competitions.
The former England international is just a shadow of the player he once was, and he has become baggage for the club. This season he has made 16 appearances for West Brom, managing one goal.

For a player of his calibre and experience, you don’t expect such amateurish errors, but the Baggies fans are used to seeing Livermore doing that every now and then.
He has a contract at the club until the end of the season, and there’s no way he should be offered a new deal. He simply needs to go.
The embarrassing performance against Elche in the friendly clash is a timely reminder that he is finished, and has very little to offer going forward.
In other West Brom news, the club want to sign this Huddersfield midfielder in January.
