Express and Star journalist raves about ‘dangerous’ West Brom winger Jed Wallace

West Brom winger Jed Wallace has been one of the consistent players for the Baggies this season, and he has been hailed as “energetic” by Lewis Cox.

The Express and Star journalist has given mid-season ratings to all the Baggies players where “dangerous” Wallace has got 6.63 out of 10.

Cox suggests that no other player has had consistent creative influence like Wallace, although he could have done better with his output.

“One of the summer’s marquee additions and he has featured plenty, for the most putting in refreshing, energetic and dangerous displays,” wrote Cox for Express and Star.

“Not enjoyed the goals and assists return he’d want, but no other attacker has had the consistent creative influence he has managed.”

Improvement

Wallace joined in the summer window from Championship rivals Millwall.

He was out of contract with the London club and joined the Hawthorns on a four-year deal.

The 28-year-old attacking midfielder has managed three goals and three assists in 20 league appearances this season.

Played mainly as a right winger, Wallace has also been used as an attacking central midfielder as well by Steve Bruce.

West Brom

Wallace was superb in the 2-1 defeat against Millwall, the 3-2 loss against Swansea, and the 2-0 win against Reading among others.

It has been a miserable campaign for the Baggies so far, but there are signs of improvements noted under new manager Carlos Corberan.

The Baggies are one place above the drop zone in the league table, but they have picked up three wins in a row before the World Cup break.

West Brom will need to maintain the same momentum when they will face Sunderland in their next game on 12 December at the Stadium of Lights.

In other West Brom news, while Stewart is set to return, there are a number of absentees for Sunderland with two players still out due to the World Cup.
