West Brom in hunt to sign Ryan Porteous after reported Rangers interest
West Brom are on the hunt to sign Hibernian central defender Ryan Porteous in the January transfer window, according to Football League World.
The 23-year-old has already informed the Scottish Premiership side that he has no intention of signing new terms at Easter Road with his current deal ending in the summer.
It has sparked many Championship clubs to become interested in signing the Scottish international for cheap in January with Hibs desperate to get some money for their star defender.

As well as the Baggies, Norwich City, Watford and Albion’s next opponents Sunderland are keen on a move for Porteous who impressed on his one and only Scotland appearance against Ukraine.
Rangers had been in the running to sign the 23-year-old but they have since moved away from this particular race, according to Daily Record pundit Tam McManus via Twitter.
Bold moves
Carlos Corberan appears to be in no mood to wait around in the transfer market and centre-half is one of the areas he is most keen on strengthening while he has the chance to do so.
Porteous is clearly a very talented player and at 23 years of age, he is at the perfect stage in his career to make a move to England and try his hand against some incredibly difficult opponents.
In Scotland, he was only getting tested by the Old Firm and other matches were relatively easy for him so it is no surprise that he wants to move away from Edinburgh and try to make his way elsewhere.
West Brom will have to fight tooth and nail to stop him from going to any other Championship club which might not be easy to do given the league standings at the moment.
But Corberan can be persuasive when he needs to be so if the Spaniard can work his charm, then he might become the first January signing and begin to help Albion away from the dreaded relegation zone.
In other West Brom news, Andy Johnson believes this player who Porteous could replace at The Hawthorns is now among the best in the entire second tier.
