West Brom starlet Amihere Idrissa Dauda joins elite Italian talent at Christmas tournament
West Brom academy starlet Amihere Idrissa Dauda has been mixing it with the best of the best of Italian football in a festive tournament.
The 15-year-old central defender, who can also represent England and Ghana at international level, was among the 88 players selected for a gruelling four-day competition to be selected in the Under-15s team for 2023.
Dauda joined players from the likes of AC Milan, Inter Milan, Juventus, Roma, Napoli and Lazio in a four-team tournament with one game on each day and little rest between each one.
Dauda was, in fact, the only player not contracted to an Italian club to be selected for the prestigious tournament and he was pictured in his Italy kit via The Secret Scout on Twitter.
According to Tutto Calcio Giovanile, he played for Team D in the tournament which went on to win all three matches and ergo the competition after three days of matches.
Potential
It is no real surprise to see another highly-rated player come through the academy ranks at West Brom given the success Taylor Gardner-Hickman has had recently and with Reyes Cleary and company also banging on the first-team door.

A lot of the first-team squad will have left The Hawthorns by the time Dauda is ready to feature in senior football but they will have all kept an eye on his progress in this festive tournament.
Just to get a call-up was a huge moment for him being the only one from outside of the Italian leagues so to then go on and be in the squad that went and won the whole thing is monumental.
Carlos Corberan must be delighted to see that this kind of quality is waiting in the wings, ready to be nurtured into the Baggies’ senior squad in the future and that might just be enough to entice him to stay for a very long time.
In other West Brom news, Albion could well be regretting not making more of an effort to sign this striker in January as Real Madrid now line up a winter move.
