Nigel Quashie loves West Brom ace Daryl Dike after what he did in 2-1 win v Sunderland

Ex-West Brom midfielder Nigel Quashie has backed Daryl Dike to be a “real problem” if he can stay fit after his winning goal against Sunderland.

The Baggies returned to Championship action after a month-long absence to make it four wins in-a-row after coming from behind at the Stadium of Light.

And former Hawthorns midfielder Quashie reacted to the result and performance on Twitter after the game, and picked out the USMNT international as one to watch for the rest of the campaign if he can avoid any more injuries.

“You don’t come away from Sunderland and get given 3pts #WBA,” he wrote on his personal Twitter account (12 December).

“They have to be earned! Daryl Dike, 2-1 Keep this man fit for the rest of the season, he’s going to be a real problem for defenders.

“4 wins in a row and 8pts of a playoff position. Safe journey back #baggies”.

Huge

There is absolutely no doubt about it, West Brom really missed Dike in the first 12 months of him being at The Hawthorns because of his injury issues.

He joined in a pretty expensive deal last January under Valerien Ismael and is now on his third permanent manager as a player here, but he has managed just five appearances for the club.

West Brom

That was his first goal and it was brilliantly taken, with some great movement in the box and an excellent header into the ground to beat the goalkeeper and give the team a vital three points.

He is a natural goalscorer and someone who has great physical attributes that will be of great use to the West Brom side as they look to really push up the table away from a relegation battle and towards a promotion push.

His fitness could really be the difference between those happening, and Carlos Corberan must do all he can to keep him ready and available.
