West Brom striker Daryl Dike sends one-word message to fans after netting Sunderland winner
West Brom striker Daryl Dike has sent a one-word message to supporters after netting the late winner in their 2-1 victory over Sunderland and finally scoring his first goal for the Baggies.
The American signed for the Championship club last January for a fee of £7million, but a rotten run of injuries has kept him sidelined for large chunks of his time in the west midlands.
His return to Carlos Corberan’s side from the bench was just his third appearance of the season, and he marked his return by assisting Tom Rogic’s equaliser and heading in the winner from a Jed Wallace cross just 10 minutes later.

The win helps West Brom climb up to 17th in the Championship table, with a home match against Rotheram awaiting them on December 17, in which the 22-year-old will definitely be vying for a starting spot.
Taking to Twitter after the victory, Dike expressed his joy at being back on the pitch and, more importantly, getting back in the goals, sending a one-word message to Baggies fans.
He tweeted: “Finally.”
Promising signs
Despite the temperatures dropping below freezing at the Stadium of Light, Dike returned to the Baggies side in red-hot form.
Fans have always known what a prospect the American is and the impact he could have on their side, with Monday night a little glimpse of his talents.
Since his January move to the west midlands, the striker has been plagued with injuries, and it is a testament to his character that he stayed focused during his rehab and hasn’t lost hope of starring in the starting XI.
Last night’s winner was a just reward for his dedication and hard work on the West Brom medical table, and you could see from the tweet what it meant to him and the fans.
Corberan’s second-half subs against Sunderland altered the course of the game, with Rogic and Dike linking up for the first goal before the latter stole the headlines with a goal that will surely have the Spanish manager pondering whether to start him at the weekend.
