Charlie Austin reacts to West Brom tweet on day he officially becomes free agent
Charlie Austin reacted to a tweet from West Brom on Wednesday.
West Brom shared a video post on their Twitter account (14 December) from a game in 2019, where Austin scored against Birmingham City. The 33-year-old striker wrote “Baggies” and added a blue heart as a reaction to the tweet.
Interestingly, Brisbane Roar also officially confirmed on 14 December that Austin agreed to a mutual termination of his contract due to family-related reasons.

The striker has suggested that it wasn’t an easy decision for him to head back to the United Kingdom, but family interest comes first.
The former Baggies striker joined the Australian side in 2022 and scored five goals in 10 matches.
His contribution to Brisbane Roar in such a short time has been outstanding and the club has paid him rich tribute.
Austin has enjoyed a stellar career, and he can be really proud of what he has done.

He was a goal machine at Burnley and Queens Park Rangers and did extremely well in the Premier League with Southampton.
Austin played just two seasons with West Brom where he netted 11 goals in 45 games and helped the club move back to the Premier League.
Despite the fact that he has played across so many clubs, it appears that West Brom hold a special place in his heart.
Austin still has got plenty of football left in him and it remains to be seen where he ends up next.
In other news, West Brom are in the hunt to sign Ryan Porteous after some reported Rangers interest.
