West Brom predicted XI v Rotherham: Daryl Dike start as Matt Phillips axed

Carlos Corberan could look to give Daryl Dike his first West Brom start in four months as the Baggies face Rotherham in their next Championship fixture.

The 22-year-old has missed a large part of the season through injury but now appears to have put his issues behind him and has featured in Albion’s previous two matches from the substitutes bench.

His 26-minute against Sunderland saw Dike manage a goal and an assist to help Albion to an important 2-1 win and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the striker given the chance to impress from the outset against the Millers.

Another player who could come into the side is Tom Rogic, with the Australian also getting on the scoresheet in the North East. The 29-year-old’s expert finish levelled the scores for Albion, and he could be an important attacking asset for Corberan moving forward.

If Rogic is deployed in a more attacking role he could come into the side to replace senior attacker Matt Phillips, which would see the Australian join Jed Wallace and John Swift in a more advanced role.

However, if Corberan wants to use the Australian in a deeper position, it would not be a surprise to see one of the Baggies’ midfielders replaced by the 29-year-old.

We don’t expect West Brom to change much defensively, with Conor Townsend, Dara O’Shea, Erik Pieters and Darnell Furlong likely to start in a back four.

A win for the Baggies against the Miller could remarkably take Corberan’s side to within five points of the playoff places.
