West Brom confirm starting XI for clash v Rotherham United

West Brom have confirmed their starting XI for their Championship fixture with Rotherham United on December 17 with two changes made.

Carlos Corberan has decided to make two changes to his starting XI with Tom Rogic and Daryl Dike coming into the team after their goalscoring antics.

Confirmed on Twitter prior to kick-off, Corberan made the big decision to drop award-winning Brandon Thomas-Asante from the starting XI for Dike.

Bullish.

With things off the pitch looking precarious as always it’s nice to see Corberan’s team looking bullishly up the Championship table.

The Spaniard has gotten off to a fine start and will be looking to dramatically improve on the Baggies’ current woeful 17th-placed spot.

It was always going to be an uphill challenge for Corberan but he seems to have gotten the squad ticking to his music, something Steve Bruce couldn’t muster up.

A fifth straight win at home to Rotherham on 17 December would all but confirm Corberan’s status as the right man for the Albion job.

Should the Albion faithful be expecting a last-ditch promotion playoff push? Stranger things have happened in the Championship season and it shouldn’t be counted out just yet.

Nevertheless, West Brom still sits two points above the relegation zone so steering way clear of that should probably be the priority before any promotion dreams are pursued.

In other West Brom news, pundit Kevin Campbell is delighted by Kyle Bartley’s contract extension at the club.
