Jake Livermore has short-lived future at West Brom after latest Carlos Corberan omission
Jake Livermore has found it tough going under new West Brom manager Carlos Corberan, and after successive omissions from the matchday squad could see his future at the club being short-lived.
The Baggies midfielder, 33, has faced his fair share of trials and tribulations at the Hawthorns and was notably a mainstay in the side who were relegated to the Championship in embarrassing fashion in 2021.
With a raft of youngsters now bursting into the first-team squad this season, the club captain has slowly fallen down the pecking order at the Hawthorns and could now face the chopping block in the January transfer window.

After starting the Englishman in his first game in charge against Sheffield United, Corberan has used Livermore just once from the bench since, with the Baggies now on a five-match winning streak.
Things have gone from bad to worse for the midfielder since the World Cup break, having been left out of the matchday squad for two successive games – as Corberan altered his bench to accommodate for some untimely injuries.
Looking at West Brom’s squad, it is hard to see how Livermore gets back into the side.
Tom Rogic is a man possessed in the last week, Grady Diangana scored on his return to the side, and Okay Yokuslu has been an ever-present at the base of the Baggies midfield under the new Spanish manager.

Even beyond these three, John Swift and Jayson Molumby are waiting in the wings and highlight the strength in depth that Corberan has at his disposal.
Although the new manager stated Livermore’s omission was to accommodate Martin Kelly on the bench, it surely doesn’t bode well for his long-term future at the club.
Given his age, the number of alternative options and the lack of backing from his manager, an exit for Livermore is surely just around the corner.
In other West Brom news, a former Baggies player is delighted by news of a new contract at the club.
