Carlos Corberan can use West Brom loanee to entice Jay Mingi to The Hawthorns

Carlos Corberan can use West Brom loanee, Josh Griffiths, to entice Jay Mingi to The Hawthorns after journalist Alan Nixon reported Baggies scouts are watching the midfielder.

Corberan seems to want to improve his engine room options in January and with Griffiths being on loan at Portsmouth he could be used as a temptation tool to lure Mingi to The Hawthorns.

Nixon confessed that Baggies scouts were analysing Mingi “week-in, week-out” suggesting a move for the maestro could be on the cards.

“Huddersfield, West Brom and Birmingham City are said to be monitoring his performances ‘week-in, week-out’, with a view of swooping in the summer,” claimed Nixon on his Patreon.

The 22-year-old’s current Pompey contract expires in the summer, leaving West Brom in a solid position to make the signing a reality.

Agent Griffiths.

Mingi is exactly the kind of talent you want your team to be signing and the powerful and athletic midfielder could be a useful weapon for Corberan to utilise.

Using the on-loan Griffiths as a potential agent to negotiate the deal could work wonders in this one, what’s better than a current club player bigging up the Albion to the potential signing?

The Baggies could launch a potential bid in January, this may work with Portsmouth unlikely willing to let one of their prized assets leave for free in the summer.

On the other hand, West Brom could simply wait this one out and use Griffiths throughout the rest of the campaign to convince Mingi of a move.

In all fairness, West Brom’s engine room has been solid since the arrival of Corberan and the likes of Okay Yukuslu, Tom Rogic, Jayson Molumby and John Swift have been thriving.

But in the harsh and long Championship season having multiple fresh and exciting options never goes amiss and the arrival of Mingi would surely push Jake Livermore out of the club.

With luck, Griffiths can help Corberan and West Brom out here, Mingi would be a fantastic signing for the team moving forward.
