West Brom predicted XI v Coventry as Daryl Dike and Bryan Thomas-Asante to start

Carlos Corberan could look to debut a new look attack by starting Daryl Dike and Bryan Thomas-Asante together in the Championship clash between West Brom and Coventry on 21 December.

22-year-old Dike has missed the majority of the season so far through injury but has made a solid return since league action resumed and earned a starting spot against Rotherham United.

Thomas-Asante was dropped for the Rotherham fixture by Corberan, nevertheless, he made his impact known from the bench scoring the Baggies’ third and final goal in the 70th minute, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him given the nod to start against the Sky Blues.

Palmer should retain his spot between the sticks for the Baggies, he’s their tried and tested safe pair of hands this campaign and has been putting in some solid outings.

Corberan will likely opt for the same backline four he has utilised in recent games with Conor Townsend, Dara O’Shea, Erik Pieters and Darnell Furlong. Kyle Bartley’s fitness levels are still unclear so it’s unlikely he’ll get a starting position against Coventry.

Jed Wallace, John Swift, Tom Rogic and Okay Yokuşlu should make up the Spaniard’s midfield with all four impressing during the demolition job of Rotherham on December 17.

Senior attacker Matt Phillips could be axed to make way for a new-look attacking partnership between Daryl Dike and Bryan Thomas-Asante.

Both forwards deserve game time at the moment, so why not try them out together? Who knows, the duo could prove to be a formidable pairing.

Predicted line-up: Palmer; Furlong, Pieters, O’Shea, Townsend, Swift, Rogic, Wallace, Yokuslu, Thomas-Asante; Dike.

In other West Brom news, pundit Kevin Campbell is delighted by Kyle Bartley’s contract extension at the club.
