Grady Diangana hails Carlos Corberan for making West Brom squad watch inspiring documentaries
Since becoming manager of West Brom, Carlos Corberan has sat his squad down to watch a number of inspirational sports documentaries.
Corberan has led an incredible turnaround at West Brom this season. After slumping to the bottom of the Championship in his first game in charge, he’s since led the Baggies on a five-game win streak.
West Brom now find themselves on the brink of reaching the playoff spots, with just five points separating them from sixth-placed QPR.

Grady Diangana has hailed the coaching of Corberan since his arrival at The Hawthorns, which has included sitting the squad down to watch inspirational documentaries.
While players were away on a mid-season training camp in Spain, Corberan made his squad watch inspirational sport documentaries, including that of Sir Alex Ferguson. Corberan is also a fan of Michael Jordan’s biopic. The head coach stresses the message to never give up. [Express & Star]
“It really unlocks something in your brain, it shows you something else you might not have seen,” said Diangana, as quoted by Express & Star.
“For everyone to be watching it together really brings a collective spirit to help us push on.”
Keep it up
Corberan’s training methods and tactics have seemed to provide a refreshing boost to a West Brom squad that looked miserable under Steve Bruce this season.
Already a few Albion players look to have improved under the Spaniard, and time spent over the winter training camp has just allowed the squad to gel and grow even more.

It seems Corberan isn’t only focusing on physically preparing his squad, but is also using documentaries to improve the overall mentality and fighting spirit in the dressing room.
It’s certainly a bizarre tactic that isn’t seen that often, but it’s bringing in results so hopefully Corberan has a very extensive list of documentaries to go through in the coming months
The players seem to be reacting to them well and translating Corberan’s messages to the pitch. An away trip to Coventry on Wednesday gives the Baggies another chance to cut the gap to the playoffs and keep this remarkable winning streak going.
