Scan today as West Brom injury news emerges on Kyle Bartley
West Brom are waiting on fresh scan results to discover the extent of defender Kyle Bartley’s injury, according to the Express and Star.
The experienced defender was rumoured to be returning for the club’s Boxing Day win over Bristol City but didn’t feature in Carlos Corberan’s squad.
Now Corberan has revealed that the club need to “review” Bartley’s injury once again after medical staff perform a new scan on the veteran defender.

“We need to review again the diagnosis, to see if his injury is more, or if it’s disappeared. He started to play a little bit with pain but the fact that he has been trying to reduce, maybe we need to come back to the first initial plan,” said Corberan as quoted by the Express and Star.
“Firstly, the medical staff will do a scan with him tomorrow, depending on the scan we will make a decision.”

Missed?
Is Bartley even missed from the West Brom starting XI at the moment? To be honest he really isn’t and the pairing of Erik Pieters and Dara O’Shea has been working perfectly fine.
However, Corberan does seem to favour Bartley when he’s fit and firing, something he demonstrated in his first few games in charge of the Baggies.
So a return to fitness for the centre-back may see him thrust straight back into Albion action, regardless of the team’s form and league position.
Whatever the case may be, it’s nice to see there is competition for places in the Baggies squad again, something that was desperately lost under Steve Bruce.
The team is finally playing some decent football and a brand of the beautiful game that is actually very enjoyable to watch.
Somehow Play-Off dreams are back on the agenda at The Hawthorns, something no one thought would be uttered amongst the Albion faithful a few months ago.
