West Brom Predicted XI v Preston – Brandon Thomas-Asante to start, John Swift benched

Carlos Corberan will be looking to continue his impressive start to life at West Brom as the Baggies get set to host Preston North End on Thursday evening.

The Spaniard won’t be looking to make sweeping changes to his lineup but he could look to give a couple of attacking players the chance to impress from the start. Summer signing John Swift could make way for the Baggies and Tom Rogic could come into attacking midfield after his impressive form of late.

The Australian has been excellent since arriving from Celtic and notched his third assist in the recent 2-0 victory over Bristol City.

Brandon Thomas-Asante could also come into the starting eleven after scoring a delightful chip against the Robins, which will mean Daryl Dike making his way up front.

The Spaniard is likely to name an unchanged defensive midfield duo, with Jayson Molumby likely to partner Okay Yokuslu once again. Taylor Gardner-Hickman replaced Molumby late on at Ashton Gate but is unlikely to break into the starting eleven against Ryan Lowe’s men.

The Baggies have been fantastic defensively of late which will mean an unchanged back four and Alex Palmer to continue in goal. West Brom have conceded just two goals in seven games under Corberan, and their defensive record has been a large part of the Baggies’ success in recent weeks.

Keeping a consistent unit defensively is clearly benefitting the Baggies and the Spaniard will be eager for their tight backline to secure another clean sheet on Thursday evening.
