Jed Wallace blown away by Okay Yokuslu after 2-0 West Brom win v Preston
Jed Wallace has praised teammate Okay Yokuslu on Twitter as West Brom moved within a point of the Championship play-off spots.
The Baggies returned to winning ways after beating Preston 2-0 on Thursday (29 December) at the Hawthorns with Yokuslu bagging a brace.
Since replacing Steve Bruce in October, Carlos Corberan has registered seven wins and six clean sheets in nine matches.
Wallace wrote on Twitter: “My word what a player Okay Yokuslu.”
Massive turnaround
The financial situation at the club continues to worry the fanbase, but Carlos Corberan continues to inject fresh hopes of promotion.
Only a couple of months ago, the Baggies were in the relegation zone, and they are now within touching distance of making it to the playoffs.
Corberan deserves massive praise for turning the table around, but it makes you wonder how badly Steve Bruce handled this team!
We kept on saying that the squad is not as bad as many think they are (obviously it needs surgery) and Corberan is proving the point.

Another major point to be noted is that Corberan is gradually making Hawthorns a fortress again as the Baggies have now roared on to a fourth successive home win.
Lilywhites goalkeeper Freddie Woodman was outstanding throughout the game as he made a string of fine saves.
Along with Yokuslu, another player who really made a big impact was John Swift. After coming on a second-half substitute, he had a long-range effort denied by the crossbar, and then played in Yokuslu who scored his second to seal the Baggies’ seventh win in eight matches.
