David Prutton predicts West Brom showdown v Reading in Championship for Sky Sports
David Prutton has predicted the outcome of the West Brom clash against Reading in the Championship on January 2 in the first game of the new year.
The Baggies head into the new year sitting pretty in the Championship table and a far cry from where Steve Bruce had left them just a few months ago.
Prutton confessed that after a “sticky” patch Reading are currently rolling along pretty nicely too but gives the Albion the edge in this match-up.

“I’m really looking forward to this one. It’s hard to believe West Brom were bottom of the league at the start of November – they’ve won seven of the last eight since then and conceded just two goals. What a job Carlos Corberan is doing there,” said Prutton as quoted by Sky Sports.
“Reading are coasting along very nicely, too, after a sticky patch in October and the start of November, though they were slightly fortunate to get a point against Norwich on Friday. I think the Baggies might just start with another win here, though.”
Prutton predicts the Baggies to come out 2-1 winners against Reading.

Play-Off push.
How good did the Baggies look against Preston North End? That was one of the most enjoyable Albion games in a long time.
Corberan has got the boys playing some fantastic attacking football and the Albion could have scored at least five on the day if not for some terrific Preston goalkeeping.
A Play-Off push is seriously on the cards as things stand, who knows, West Brom may even catapult themselves into an automatic promotion position.
With the type of confidence and level of football, they are playing at the moment that isn’t completely out of the question.
Some reinforcements wouldn’t go amiss in January either, but Corberan seems more than happy playing with the weapons he already has at his disposal.
Now all the Albion needs is for club owner Guochuan Lai to pay back his loan, which was meant to be taking place on December 31.
Nevertheless, there hasn’t even been a whisper out of the club surrounding this murky deal just yet, something that puts a slight dampener on things at the moment.
