Carlos Corberan lifted as family attend first West Brom game v Reading

Carlos Corberan’s family have finally made their way to The Hawthorns to watch West Brom as they took on Reading in the Championship.

The Spaniard made the move to the Midlands after Steve Bruce was sacked as Baggies manager but his family had not attended any of his games since then as they lived across the water on mainland Europe.

That all changed however as his mother and father led a number of his relatives onto British shores to cheer him on as he tried to take Albion further up the league table.

“The Corberan family, mother, father, sisters, nephews, wife and son are in attendance at The Hawthorns for the first time today!” Express and Star journalist Jonny Drury said via his personal Twitter account. “Hopefully, they’ll be given something to shout about.”

Underestimated

It can often be forgotten by football fans that moving to a foreign country all by yourself is a very daunting thing to do and not everybody is able to cope with the change as well as Corberan has at West Brom.

Of course, he has been helped by having his own coaching staff with him, who he has worked with previously, and this is his second spell in England after leading Huddersfield Town to the playoff final.

West Brom

But regardless of all of that, he will still want his family to be as close as they possibly can be and although that isn’t possible at the moment, it is very important that they have made the pilgrimage to The Hawthorns on this occasion to welcome in 2023 for the Baggies.

Every Albion fan would be delighted if the Spaniard was still in charge when this year comes to a close if he keeps up the current run of form and visits from his own blood will go a long way to keeping his spirits sky high.
