West Brom loanee Jamie Andrews returns to The Hawthorns as loan expires after eight games

Jamie Andrews has not seen his loan move to Yeovil Town extended and return to West Brom after a short period at Huish Park.

The Baggies announced his return to The Hawthorns on 5 January after he played eight times for the Glovers and he leaves them 18th in the National League.

His loan at Yeovil was always due to end in January and both sides have decided to not extend the agreement for the rest of the season despite Andrews being unbeaten in his final seven matches under Mark Cooper.

“Thanks to the fans for making me feel so welcome during my time,” Andrews said via his personal Twitter account after the news emerged. “Wish the team all the best for the season!”

The 20-year-old enjoyed a very good start to the season in Premier League 2 with four assists and one goal in seven matches for Albion before he headed to the National League.

Another option

To go from the fifth tier to the Championship would be a huge jump up for Andrews who has hardly helped Yeovil surge up the National League in his eight games there but maybe Carlos Corberan wants another midfield option.

You would think the fine form West Brom have been in that the Spaniard would be content to leave things as they are as to not disrupt the flow right now but he has to have an eye to the rest of the season.

West Brom

Games are going to come thick and fast all the way until May and Corberan might need to utilise every player at his disposal to get through them all with fitness and injuries surely going to cause problems for every team.

Andrews won’t be near a start anytime soon with Okay Yokuslu and Jayson Molumby among the most in-form players in the entire division and Taylor Gardner-Hickman a very good backup alongside Jake Livermore.

In other West Brom news, a journalist at the Reading game shared the scenes after full-time as fans vented their frustrations at Ron Gourlay.
