Kevin Campbell shares ‘close’ West Brom Premier League promotion prediction

We’re delighted to welcome former West Brom striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at The Hawthorns…

West Brom have enjoyed a spectacular run of form under Carlos Corberan with the Baggies racking up eight wins in their last nine Championship matches.

The Baggies now sit just outside the playoff places and Kevin Campbell has been impressed with Albion’s performances since Corberan took the job at The Hawthorns.

The former West Brom striker has gone as far to suggest the Baggies will “go close” to sealing promotion back to the Premier League.

“Now Corberan’s in charge their form is top two or three in the division so he’s clearly getting a tune out of them,” Campbell exclusively told West Brom News.

“They’re going to go close [to promotion], people think it’s a wrap, it isn’t a wrap they’re going to go close.”

The tight-knit nature of the Championship in the 2022/23 season means nearly half of the division have a genuine chance of promotion. Just ten points seperates Watford in fourth and Stoke City in 18th position. Corberan will be aware that a consistent run of form will see Albion comfortably into the playoffs.

The next fixture againts Luton Town well be a stern test of the Baggies and a good measure of how far they’ve come since 39-year-old replaced Steve Bruce at The Hawthorns.

West Brom’s current form is a startling indication of just how bad things were under their former boss, with relegation previously being a real possibility.

In other West Brom news, Albion are trying to sign this Brighton player on loan.
