West Brom in talks to cut short Kenneth Zohore contract – Journalist

West Brom are in talks to cut short forward Kenneth Zohore’s contract at The Hawthorns with a return to Denmark on the cards, according to Mirror Sports journalist Darren Witcoop.

Zohore is out of contract at West Brom this summer and with no sign of the Dane getting any chance to play for Carlos Corberan it seems his time is up earlier than expected.

With Brandon Thomas-Asante and Daryl Dike ahead of him in the pecking order too, the club are now moving to free up his massive wages earlier than anticipated to potentially make room for others.

“West Brom are in talks to cut short the contract of £8m flop Kenneth Zohore early,” revealed Witcoop on his personal Twitter account (10 January).

“Zohore, a free agent in the summer, could return to his native Denmark with clubs showing interest in the striker.”

Transfer blunder.

It was thought that the arrival of Carlos Corberan at The Hawthorns may bring about some change in fortune for Zohore but it looks like this is far from the case.

There’s a strong argument to suggest that the £8m to bring the Dane to West Brom in the summer of 2019 from Cardiff City is one of the worst bits of business the club has ever done.

West Brom

He showed brief glimpses under Slaven Bilic but has since failed to even be acknowledged by the Croatian’s three successors at the club.

Brandon Thomas-Asante, Daryl Dike and even Karlan Grant sit above the Dane in Corberan’s forward pecking order now and a move away is probably the best option for all parties involved.

Getting rid of dead wood in the team must be on the club’s agenda in January and this will be a transfer blunder they will want to forget sharpish.
