David Button could be set for West Brom exit as Josh Griffiths returns to Hawthorn from loan spell
West Brom confirmed on 11 January that they have recalled young goalkeeper Josh Griffiths from his loan spell at Portsmouth.
The 21-year-old has a long-term contract at the Hawthorns, until 2025, and he made 28 appearances for the League One side.
Griffiths kept seven clean sheets in the third tier and it comes as a surprise that the club decided to call him back when he was getting regular games.

Could this mean, the Baggies are planning to get rid of David Button?
The 33-year-old goalkeeper has managed 11 appearances in the Championship so far and recently played in the 3-3 draw against Chesterfield in the FA Cup on 07 January.
Button is behind Alex Palmer in the pecking order, but his performances hardly exude confidence. Carlos Corberan probably wasn’t impressed after seeing his performance in the FA Cup and decided to keep faith in Griffiths instead.
To be fair, Griffiths is not yet ready to be a back-up goalkeeper for Palmer in the Championship. He needs game time to keep developing and is equally prone to errors like Button.

The youngster has got great potential, no doubt, but he needs to grow at lower leagues, and another loan spell away from the club could be beneficial.
But, Corberan knows what he is doing, and the fans must trust his judgment. He is the one who has given the club a new ray of hope, and he might have other plans regarding the goalkeeping situation.
Button should leave, irrespective of what happens with Griffith. It won’t come as a big surprise if he is allowed to leave in the January window.
In other West Brom news, Albion are in talks to terminate this big-money player’s contract early.
